Buniya just landed her first test analyst job through us, and she’ll soon be moving to Hamilton to begin her new career.
We sat down with her to ask about her experience with us, and how Industry Connect helped her with her in New Zealand.
How did you end up with Industry Connect?
“I came to New Zealand from India in February 2015, and after arriving, I did a post graduate diploma course in computing for a year. After that I got an opportunity to do a development internship so my background is in testing as well as in development.
“But even though I got an opportunity in develop-pment, my passion was always in testing, and I looked forward to getting a testing job. I didn’t have much of a background in automation, so when I heard about Industry Connect, I felt like I could learn something new here, something I didn’t know.
“It also gave me an opportunity to work in real-time projects, so I could enhance my skillset. That’s why I decided to join Industry Connect.
“I only joined here about eight months ago, so not very long, and I’m so happy I got the opportunity to work with a good team. My collegues were really co-operative, and I was able to learn so many things from them. It really helped me a lot with job-hunting.
How did Industry Connect help Buniya get a full-time job?
“When I joined the project I was given a different type of task -in manual testing as well as automation, so having the two really helped me get up there. I was able to learn different tools and the latest technologies in the IT industry, which is really important.
“I would definitely suggest to other people and my friends to join Industry Connect. It’s really a good opportunity to enhance your skillset, and keep up with the latest technologies, because it’s changing so fast. Yeah, I would definitely recommend coming here.
