Another Ozzie success story! This time it’s Divya who has just landed a job as a data and reporting officer!
We caught up with her to ask about her time with Industry Connect and MVP Studio and if she had any advice for others thinking of joining.
Well congratulations Divya on your new job as a data and reporting officer! Tell us, what do you think of the Industry Connect initiative?
The initiative is very good, especially for people who have no understanding of data. However I had past experience with data, I had a break due to maternity leave, so that’s the reason I joined, to have a new understanding of what I’d missed.
Power BI was new to me, that’s what I learned from Industry Connect, however people who have no understanding in IT at all, it’s a very good initiative, the whole process.
Would you recommend Industry Connect to others?
Yes, I have already, I don’t know if they’ve joined. I’ve told a lot of my friends and a few of my cousins who were in Uni and taking a one year extension. SO I recommended them that if they joined in the meantime they’ll have a good network and be more focused.
What would you like to suggest to others?
You have to have good team work. We had a very good team when we started, we helped each other. We had spread socials and some people came across matrix data types and different data types. We helped each other, and teamwork is essential, and networking too.
We are still connected to the MVP team on Whatsapp, and we help each other when we come across certain job roles. We send the link if we have been unsuccessful in an interview, so we send the link to others and hopefully they can be successful.
So it’s just not learning on your own, but also to progress with the team and be connected to the team. And MVP really helps a lot with the information and the sources, but we have to utilise it from our end as well.
