How did you get into Business Intelligence/Data Analyst and end up securing a job as a full-time Data Analyst?
I worked as a Developer in the Philippines and before coming to Singapore, I realized that there was not much of market demand for my skill set hence I started to do my research and that was when I came across Industry Connect’s Business Intelligence Data Analyst Job Ready Programme.
I then found out that some of my previous skill set that I had gained all through my previous experiences will help me pursue and excel in this programme even further.
On top of all the technical aspects that they teach such as Power BI, MSSQL, SSRS, DAX, they also provide soft skills training to develop us holistically.
I found the remote internship to be really helpful as being a Mom, it allowed me to have the flexibility I needed to cope with the programme.
How do you think Industry Connect got you to secure the position you have now?
I had learned many new tools to use for reporting and put all of the experience gained in my CV. That is what I believe, got my noticed by the employers. The Technologies I learned matched that of the job requirements.
Do you have any advice or recommendations for anyone wanting to get into the Business Intelligence/Data Analyst industry?
Yes I do. For people like me changing careers, always remember to upskill and seek all the help you can.
