This time it’s Kalyani who’s over the moon after finding a job as a BI Analyst.
The most amazing part of this story is she didn’t have any experience in Business Intelligence before joining us!
What does a Business Intelligence Analyst do?
In short, a BI analyst makes the data understandable for businesses.
A BI analyst is a data expert, usually with a strong background in computer science and/or programming, as they mostly works with software and databases.
Experience in programming is handy, but not essential when it comes to a career as a BI analyst, as Kalyani proves.
While programming is a big part of the job, BI developers also deal with issues which might affect users. For example, they translate applications, but they must make sure that these applications are presented in a manner that is user-friendly.
In addition to working with databases, a BI analyst also designs and creates tables, and creates a warehouse database to store large amounts of data and ensuring that the operating processes are functioning properly. They might also diagnose and repair problems that users have with specific applications.

Before she took off to start her new career, we caught up with Kalyani to ask her about her time with Industry Connect.
So how did you feel when you got the job offer?
I was pretty excited to be frank! Especially because that was my first job interview and I didn’t have any BI experience – I only learnt that after I joined Industry Connect, so I’m very proud.
Would you recommend Industry Connect to your friends?
I would surely recommend Industry Connect. I’ve got a couple of friends lined-up, and I’m sure they’re going to be the next people to come here and achieve their goals.
What advice would you give to people who want their first job as a BI analyst?
With my personal experience, I would for sure recommend Industry Connect, because before I had that experience and I was applying for jobs, I couldn’t get an arm in, I just got all those failure emails.
But I’ve gained a lot of knowledge after joining Industry Connect, and with their support and motivation, I’ve got the job!
