Chaitra came to Industry Connect because she couldn’t find a job after arriving in Australia from India. Now she’s has landed her first Test Analyst job in Melbourne!
Before she started out on her new career, we caught up with her to ask her about her time with us.
First off, congratulations on landing your first test analyst job in Melbourne. Tell us a little about your background, and how long you’ve been trying to secure a job?
Yeah, so I worked back in my home country for five years, but it was like purely manual testing and when I came here and I started looking for a job, many employers were looking for automation analyst performance and other APA things, so many technologies came up, and I was not aware of all those technologies.
That’s the reason when I was going through Google, I thought I would do a course to improve my technical skills, but I found Industry Connect. When I attended the information sessions I got to know what it does and I thought ok let me let me join!
What were the highlights of the program for you? What do you think helped you to secure your first test analyst job in Melbourne?
It’s definitely the technical skills, because once you are technically strong, you can face the interview with a lot of confidence and also the communication skills. And employers will ask if you have worked in a real time environment, and because I had this Industry Connect internship I was able to say yes.
So if you were to bump into someone in the street that is finding themselves in the same situation as you were a while back, what advice can you give them?
Definitely. I mean everyone will get their job through Industry Connect, the only thing is you have to put in the effort. If you are thinking of joining Industry Connect, please do it, it will definitely help you and if you put the same effort in as well, then you’ll end up in a job.
