Our Sydney branch is once again producing the goods, this time it’s Jyoti who has found a job as a software tester.
We gave her a call to ask about her time with Industry Connect and if she had any advice for people who want to find a job in the IT industry.
First of all Jyoti, congratulations on your new job as a software tester! Tell us, how was your journey with Industry Connect?
It’s been a nice journey! It was all good, from coming into Industry Connect, to joining the internship, to getting hands-on experience in automation… it was all good.
And everyone was very supportive. Whenever I need something from anyone, I just sent a message out and the replies flew in, I got so much support.
I think this is the best thing I’ve ever done.
Awesome! What was your background before joining Industry Connect?
Actually, I had a gap in my career. I was working in India before, so after 2 years I wanted to get back into it, but I wasn’t getting anywhere. After coming to Industry Connect I learned a lot, I picked up automation skills.
I had automation experience in the past, but not with selenium. I always wanted to learn and work with selenium, so it’s a good thing!
Do you think Industry Connect helped you become who you are today?
I think so because I brushed off my old things which I already knew and I learned new things, so Industry Connect helped me a lot.
And the boosted my confidence, especially in giving interviews. You taught me to just go for it!
What would you suggest to someone in your situation?
The big thing is to upgrade your skills and just go and join Industry Connect!
