Farid Kanani joined us with a history as a data analyst, but it was a different career path which lay before him.
After joining us, Farid gravitated more towards the BI Developer side of the IT industry, and we’re pleased to announce he’s just secured a job in that field.
We caught up with him before he headed off to pastures new to ask about his time with Industry Connect and his thoughts on the course.
What would you say to people who want to get into the IT industry?
I would say like the main thing is attitude.
I started my journey as a data analyst – this new job is a BI role – but I got the training from Industry Connect with a great tutor.
Definitely the money I paid and the amount of knowledge I got it’s definitely worth it, it’s a new me.
Right now, this is my first role as a BI Developer, but now I know I’m able to do that, otherwise I wouldn’t have accepted it.
People can start from a data analyst like I did, or a reporting kind of job, the main thing is attitude.
You need to go into a job interview really confident and convince the person sitting in front of you that you are really keen to learn new things and you are capable to do it.
You just need to show your confidence, I think that’s the best advice from my point of view.
