Once again, one of our interns has found a job as a software developer thanks to our help!
This time it’s Nik who has launched his new career from the Industry Connect springboard.
Before walked off into the sunset, we caught up with him to ask about his time here with us, and if he had any advice for people who were thinking of joining us, but weren’t 100% sure if they should commit.
Hey Nik! First of all, congratulations on your new job as a software developer! Is there anything you would like to share after your journey at Industry Connect?
It was a good experience because I learnt from people. Sure, I went on courses before I joined Industry Connect, but I learned more alternative ways here to look at stuff.
I think the soft skills is more important than the technical skills. Technical skills can be learned on the job itself, but soft skills are quite hard to do.
What do you think the key was to making your interviews successful?
On a job interview, they didn’t really ask technical questions – they ask more about projects I’ve worked on during the internship. I told them all the about the projects I worked on during my internship with Industry Connect and I think that is what secured the job for me.
What was your background before joining Industry Connect?
Before this I was a performance tester. I did scripting, but it was more of an automation thing, rather than doing the functions itself.
Would you recommend Industry Connect to others?
Yes, yes, I would. Industry Connect gives you the chance to work with other people and also to learn new things about software development.
