Landing a job as a systems engineer is no easy task – unless you join Industry Connect!
Luckily that’s exactly what Papri did and now she’s just secured her job and couldn’t be happier!
We gave her a call over in our Australian site to ask about her time with Industry Connect and if she would recommend us to others looking for a career in IT.
Hi Papri, and congrats on your new job as a systems engineer! Do you think Industry Connect helped you become who you are today?
In my opinion Industry Connect has been a really beautiful journey for me. Actually, it helped me to get armed with the latest technology which is being used nowadays in the Sydney market, so I got exposure to learn different technologies.
I learned automation from here, I have got awesome mentors, just like Danielle Shannon and other mentors. I have got beautiful friends and colleagues from Industry Connect, so this journey has been definitely beautiful and fruitful for me.
That’s wonderful. What would you suggest to people trying to get into the IT industry?
First, I want to tell them that don’t give up hope. If you are coming from a different country and so you don’t have local experience, then, in that case, you should join Industry Connect to get local experience and you should do the task of MVP Studio and you will be ready to jump into the market. That is what I would recommend to everyone and that is my advice to everyone!
What do you think of remote internships?
Yes that has been very much beneficial for me because I have little kids so I so managing time would be the hardest part for me, but Industry Connect has given me that opportunity to work with my flexibility and that is really helpful for me.
And I think after COVID, it’s essential that you should learn to work remotely and there is no need to go to an office, so yes that has been very much helpful for me and it is recommended.
We couldn’t’ agree more! What did you enjoy most about your internship with Industry Connect?
I love to be a part of joining regional scrum and global scrum meetings. I got to learn what is scrum is – scrum methodology has been very useful and enjoyable for me.
Another thing I actually wanted to mention was, we used to do conversation with the different people whom I didn’t know, so that actually helped me improve my conversation skill, to improve my English speaking skill and it actually boosted me to get the confidence to make conversation with the unknown people. It helped me in my interviews, that was the most beautiful part in Industry Connect.
That’s great to hear. So would you recommend Industry Connect to others?
Oh my god! Are you seriously asking me this?! It is 200%, no 300% yes I would recommend Industry Connect, especially anyone who is an immigrant like me!
Well thank you Papri and good luck in your new job as a systems engineer!
